People are often caught
up in monotony, worry about past and fear about future. They
deliberately choose to be captivated by fantasies and goals
in order to escape the agony of monotony. Often time they
are dissatisfied with their lives, jobs and marriages because
of the emptiness inside them. Everyone is born with emptiness
in his or her hearts. People do anything and everything to
fill that emptiness, but nothing seems to work. Until they
recognize what it is, people try to fill it up by stuffing
earthly things into it. Most people think they are unhappy
because they are not successful yet. So they try buying a
big house or nice car but that doesn’t solve the problem.
Will possessions, activities, and power satisfy that inner
need? It’s like trying to force the wrong piece of a
puzzle into a space not meant for it. People don’t know
why they are not satisfied after trying so many things. It
doesn’t work. Nothing but God can satisfy that inner
need that everyone is born with. Not just any god but God
and Savior Jesus Christ who came to this world to die for
our sins. He shed his blood as a remission for our sins.
Who
is a sinner?
Many people
think that they are better than others and that will take
them to heaven. There are no good deeds that we do, that will
forgive the sins that we have committed. Karma or reaping
what we sow will not forgive our sins or take us to heaven.
We don’t have to stay in bondage of sins committed by
ancestors. As a matter of fact we don’t have to be punished
or stay in bondage, when someone else took the penalty on
our behalf. Man’s standards are not God’s standard.
Let us see what God’s standard has to say.
Psalm
14:2-3 (New International Version)
The LORD looks down from heaven on the sons of men to see
if there are any who understand, any who seek God.
All have turned aside, they have together become corrupt;
there is no one who does good, not even one.
Romans
3:23 (New International Version)
For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
God created
man in His own image and he was a spiritual being and was
alive spiritually when he had fellowship and communion with
God his creator. Then spiritual death entered the life of
man when he rebelled against God and followed the fallen angel
- Satan. This nature is spiritual death. Spiritual death began
when man followed Satan instead of God. This fallen nature
is present in any man until he is born again.
As the scripture says,
Ephesians
1:7 (New International Version)
In Him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness
of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace
To be redeemed means to be bought back. The price has been
already paid through the blood of Jesus Christ.
What is the punishment for sin?
Romans
6:23 (New International Version)
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal
life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
How
do we get saved from the deadly sin?
John 3:16
(New International Version)
For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son,
that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal
life.
If you
say, I believe that Jesus Christ is the only way to heaven,
but don’t know what to do next? Pray this prayer with
faith.
“Father,
I know that I am a sinner and that I deserve to go to hell,
since my sins have separated me from you. I am truly sorry,
and now I want to turn away from my past sinful life towards
you. Please forgive me, and help me sin no more. I believe
that your son Jesus Christ died on the cross for my sins,
and was resurrected from the dead, and He is alive, and hears
my prayer. I do now receive Him as my personal Lord and Savior
and I want Him to be a ruler of my heart from now on. Please
send your Holy Spirit to help me obey You, and to do Your
will for the rest of my life. In Jesus’ name I pray,
Amen.”
Remember
that though you are saved now, salvation is a process. Scripture
says,
Matthew
24:13 (New International Version)
But he who stands firm to the end will be saved.
It is
your choice to seek His help or reject Him every time you
are in a crossroad to make a decision. Find a Bible-believing
church and speak with the Pastor about baptism. He would guide
you in other important things like anointing of the Holy Spirit
and sanctification in daily life.
